SnapOCR
Privacy Policy
SnapOCR is a screenshot and on-screen text recognition utility for macOS. It is designed to work entirely on your device. SnapOCR does not collect, transmit, store, or share personal data.
How the app handles data
- Screen capture and OCR run locally. Images are captured and recognized on your Mac with Apple's ScreenCaptureKit and Vision frameworks. Images and recognized text never leave your device.
- Clipboard. Captured images and recognized text are placed on your clipboard so you can paste them where you choose.
- Saving files. A screenshot is written to a local folder only when you explicitly choose to save it.
No data collection
- No account and no sign-in.
- No connection to a server.
- No analytics, tracking, advertising, or third-party SDKs.
Permissions
Screen Recording is required by macOS to capture the screen. SnapOCR uses it only when you ask the app to take a screenshot or recognize text.
Children
SnapOCR does not collect data from anyone, including children.
